Ruben James De Jesus started his civil engineering career at Melden & Hunt, Inc. after graduating from University of Texas – Pan American with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering in 2011. Ruben James is currently a registered Engineer-In- Training under the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and is working towards the path of receiving his Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.  In addition Ruben James has also attained the certification of Surveyor-In-Training through the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveyors and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) as well.

Ruben James was born in McAllen, Texas and was raised in Edinburg, Texas.  Completing all his early education through the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (ECISD), he was greatly involved in community service. Currently, he is a member of the Edinburg Lion’s International Club, Edinburg Transportation Advisory Committee, American Society of Civil Engineers and a Sacred Heart Catholic Church parishioner. In addition, Ruben James has been working towards becoming leader in his profession by participating in Leadership Edinburg and is a proud alumnus of Class XIV.

As Ruben James continues his career with Melden and Hunt, Inc. he is currently working on various design and construction projects. Ruben James collaborates with Texas Gas Service in the planning and design for their many transmission and distribution natural gas lines in the Rio Grande Valley. Furthermore, Ruben James has been a part of several survey projects and continues to work daily with clients requesting engineering and surveying services.
