Melden & Hunt, Inc. was contracted to plan, design, and construct a wastewater plant in Hargill consisting of a faculative pond, two (2) stabilization ponds, an irrigation holding pond and a recirculation pump station. A wastewater collection system consisting of approximately 26,700 feet of wastewater gravity collection pipelines and 4,300 feet of pressure sewer was also installed as part of the project.
Understanding the importance of beneficial re-use of wastewater, the team permitted the effluent discharge for use on a citrus orchard. The total cost of the project was $1,630,000.
