Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by the City of Edinburg to complete the civil engineering for the new city hall. Melden & Hunt, Inc. was also hired by the architect, TAG International, to design the parking lots and coordinate the survey construction of the buildings. Construction of phase one is estimated to be completed by August 2008.
Gated community design, platting project for North McAllen
Meldent & Hunt, Inc. was hired by WYOT Enterprises to do the engineering design and subdivision platting for Villagio Subdivision – a new exclusive gated community. Villagio Subdivision is a 78-lot subdivision located on the north side of McAllen, Texas and will include custom garden homes built by Sitterle Homes.
Jumping on board IHOP projects of South Texas
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by Haidar Properties, LTD to engineer, design and plat the new International House of Pancakes in Edinburg, Mission, and Kingsville, Texas. Haidar Properties, LTD also hired Melden & Hunt, Inc. to do design site plan for On The Border in San Antonio, Texas.
Retail chain development in Edinburg
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by First Hartford Corporation to engineer The Shoppes at the Rio Grande Valley. The 76 acre development in Edinburg will be an open-air market place providing a variety of retail chains, restaurants, and specialty shops for shoppers on both sides of the U.S – Mexican border.
Melden & Hunt, Inc working on McAllen subdivision
Melden & Hunt, Inc. has been hired by Treto Construction to engineer the Palms Tower development. Melden & Hunt, Inc. was responsible for designing the site plan and for working closely with the City of McAllen to complete the subdivision platting process. The 5-story luxury condominium complex is located in south McAllen. The proposed project is anticipated to be completed by December 2008.
Levee improvement project with Melden & Hunt, Inc.
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by Ballenger Construction Company to provide surveying services for the proposed levee improvement project for Hidalgo County Drainage District Number 1. The proposed improvements consist of a 3.76 mile project of new levee construction from the Anzalduas Dam to Inspiration Road. Melden & Hunt, Inc. will provide vertical and horizontal control and survey related work.
Melden & Hunt, Inc. complete historic area survey
Melden & Hunt, Inc. is currently providing the City of Hidalgo with surveying services for establishing the boundary limits of its historic area comprised of the historic irrigation pump house, the original county courthouse and the original county jail. The historic pump house was established in 1910, while the original county courthouse and jail were established in 1852.
Melden & Hunt, Inc. complete 874-acre survey
Melden & Hunt, Inc. recently completed a 974-acre survey for a landowner who was uncertain of its boundary limits. The survey was along the Rio Grande River – straddling the Hidalgo County and Cameron County line within the community of Santa Maria, Texas. The project consisted of title research, abstracting, topography and lot corners. Melden & Hunt, Inc. established the survey with the location of the Original International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) monuments that were set for original property corners.
Construction improvement for McAllen main irrigation canal
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by the City of McAllen to engineer the replacement of the Hidalgo County Irrigation District No. 1 Main Canal along Bentsen Road. The proposed improvements include putting the existing earth canal underground with 8,268 linear feet of 10’ X 7’ dual concrete boxes and related irrigation structures. Currently, the General Contractor is mobilizing and will start construction shortly. Therefore, Melden and Hunt, Inc. will commence the inspection phase of the project and will oversee all construction inspection and administration activities. Further, this project was initiated by the City of McAllen due to the widening of Bentsen Road from FM 495 to Nolana Road in order to improve traffic conditions.
Edinburg, TX Water Treatment Plant
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by the City of Edinburg to engineer the construction of a 8.0 MGD Surface Water Treatment Plant. Currently, Melden & Hunt, Inc. is overseeing the construction of said water treatment which is 85% complete. The water treatment plant is located within the City of Edinburg on Monmack Road and Freddy Gonzalez Road.
La Joya/Palmview Water Treatment Plant project
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by the La Joya Water Supply Corporation to engineer the construction of a 6.0 MGD Surface Water Treatment Plant. Currently, Melden & Hunt, Inc. is overseeing the construction of said water treatment plant which is 35% complete. The water treatment plant is located in the community of Palmview, Texas next to the offices of the La Joya Water Supply Corporation.
Melden & Hunt, Inc. expand Mission Water Treatment Plant
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was hired by the City of Mission to engineer the construction of a 6.0 MGD Surface Water Treatment Plant Expansion. The existing plant is rated at 11.0 mgd’s and will be upgraded to 17.0 mgd’s. Currently, Melden & Hunt, Inc. is in the design phase of the project and plans and specifications have been submitted to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for review and approval. Once Melden & Hunt, Inc. receives approval from TCEQ and the City of Mission, Melden & Hunt, Inc. will prepare bid documents and will assist the City of Mission with bidding the project.
Melden & Hunt, Inc. engineer San Juan Water Tower
Melden & Hunt, Inc. was recently hired by the City of San Juan to engineer the construction of a 1.0 MGD Elevated Composite Water Tower and to prepare a hydraulic model of its water distribution system. The location of said water tower will be determined once the hydraulic model is generated and the evaluation of various sites is available.
Engineering Study for Boeye Reservoir Project
Melden & Hunt, Inc was hired by the McAllen Public Utilities to prepare an engineering study, along with plans and specifications for the re-location of the Boeye Reservoir located along 23rd Street and U.S. Highway 83. Currently, Boeye reservoir occupies a prime location within the City of McAllen. Specifically, the reservoir is nearby the mall, airport and the new convention center. Further, the City of McAllen desires to reclaim this prime property to enhance their quality of life and developmental activities in this area. Melden & Hunt, Inc. is in the design stage of the project and is currently designing the reservoir, conveyance system, irrigation canal tie-ins, control structures, intake and outtake structures and pump structures.
